Children's Church

God’s vision is to see children saved and equip them to be light and salt in their world, their families and their school. They will see dreams and visions; they will see healings and wonders; and they will prophesy. They will go out and make disciples. We want to be a church without walls and we want to see children coming to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Captiv8 is our children’s church, and there are four ingredients to it.

Live wires
Wednesday starting at 4.30pm – 5.45pm

  Junior Soldiers
Wednesday from 6pm – 7.15pm
It is for children at primary school, from reception to year 6 and costs 50p.It starts with tea, usually pizza or cheese on toast. We sit around the table of our Bunker building, with the children, listening to them talk about the day they have had, good and not so good.
We talk about a particular story in the bible and there are sheets to colour and word searches to complete. We then spend half an hour playing games and running around.

We end the time with prayers led by the children.

.

It opens with worship and prayers. Junior Soldiers is a time for the children to learn more about Jesus, the bible and the Salvation Army. We split the children into age groups and we use the Salvation Army Junior Soldier material called Mobilise. The children can come to Junior Soldiers when they are 7 and stay till they are 14.
The children can decide to become Junior Soldiers. This is when they choose to make a promise to become closer to Jesus, to read the bible and to pray. It is the Salvation Army’s children’s discipleship programme

Captiv8 on a Sunday
  Captiv8 Holiday Clubs
Our Sunday school.
We use the Scripture Union material called LightLive.
The children are split into age groups:
Captiv8 Littlies, birth to preschool
Captiv8, reception to year 6
Captiv8 years 7-8
Each week we begin with worship and then group activities including the bible teaching. All the groups finish together in their ‘family circles’ where the children pray together and chat about the week ahead.

Each school holiday for primary school aged children.  During the summer it is a week long club running for 2½ hours in the morning. In half terms, Easter and Christmas, depending on numbers of adults they run over 1-3 days.

Holiday clubs are days full of excitement, fun, worship, Jesus stories, dvd clips, music, games, craft and so much more. The children have an amazing time, as do all the adults building up relationships.

Captiv8 is all about the children.
We want them to know that Jesus loves them so much and is there for them.
We want them to know that they are beautiful, loved and worthy of everything.
